DRESS AND ATTIRE REFERENCES

We understand that many of you have been seeking guidance on what to wear for each event, so Rachel and I have compiled a list of a few online websites where we’ve personally found beautiful ethnic clothing. These sites offer reasonably priced attire for men and women, featuring stunning pieces that you can wear for this occasion and beyond.
Be sure to check your measurements and compare if you are purchasing a ready to ship outfit! You can also provide your measurements to get a custom fit. If you have any questions please reach out to either of us and we will be happy to help!
Here are some of Rachel's favorite shopping destinations:

VIDHI
ATTIRE
For this upcoming event at the Patel Residence, we encourage you to embrace vibrant and comfortable attire, avoiding any black ensembles. For the lovely women out there, Indowestern styles, anarkalis, lehengas, pant sets, and skirt sets are all wonderful options that celebrate color and cultural flair. Additionally, African attire is warmly welcomed, as are midi summer dresses that keep you cool and stylish. Consider wearing sandals and flats! Here are a few photos of each option

Gentlemen, we encourage you to embrace ethnic attire and choose styles that resonate with your personal taste. Whether you prefer a classic kurta, a stylish sherwani, or a contemporary fusion outfit, there are plenty of options to express your individuality. Look for vibrant colors and comfortable fabrics that not only reflect the spirit of the event but also make you feel great. A button-down shirt paired with khakis is also a fantastic choice for a polished yet relaxed look. Here are a few photos of each option

PITHI
ATTIRE
Similarly to the Vidhi, we ask you to embrace comfortable styles of clothing that maintain a touch of formality. We have a strict color scheme for this event, so please come dressed in white, pink, or orange. Embracing these colors will not only create a beautiful visual harmony but also enhance the festive atmosphere. Since we will be spending time outside in the sun, it’s important to choose fabrics that keep you cool while still looking polished. Consider options like an indowestern skirt set or a palazzo fusion outfit.
Men, consider tailored shorts paired with a colorful button down or a kurta-set. African attire is warmly welcomed, as are summer formal styles that keep you cool. Ladies consider wearing sandals and flats! Here are a few options:

GARBA
ATTIRE
Any colors are fair game here! Typically, you will see women wearing lenghas and chaniya choli outfits during this event. Those usually are colorful, ornate and can be matte or sparkly! Depending on how “traditional” or “tribal” you like, be sure you’ve got a flowy skirt as Garba is danced with many turns and spins, showing off the twirl of the skirts!

For our gentleman out there, you will find many ethnic wear options including kurta-sets, nehru jackets, simple sherwanis and even more traditional outfits with dhoti style pants allowing lots of breeze and flow. Here are some photos!
WEDDING
ATTIRE
At an Indian wedding ceremony, women often adorn themselves in luxurious fabrics like silk, showcasing beautiful sarees and lehengas adorned with intricate embroidery and shimmering details. Many Indian fashion websites offer convenient pre-stitched sarees that are easy to wear and equally stunning.

Gentlemen often choose to wear an elegant sherwani, which beautifully captures the essence of the occasion, or they may opt for a classic suit paired with tailored trousers. Many of the websites mentioned above offer a wonderful selection of affordable and stylish options that embrace the rich cultural heritage perfect for an Indian wedding. Whether you choose to embrace traditional ethnic wear or opt for a stylish formal western outfit, we can’t wait to see you shine! Here are some photos of ethnic wedding wear
RECEPTION
ATTIRE
Our reception is set as a western style dinner with dancing and fun through the night. Rachel will be wearing a wedding dress, so please refrain from wearing white!
Gents you won’t go wrong with a tuxedo, or a suit. Ladies, a long gown or a sparkly lehenga will do you wonders!
